Cycle Tracking Tips & Tools

Take the lead on a simple approach to tracking your tween’s cycle.

If you have a menstrual cycle and this is new for you, consider tracking your cycle to learn together.

Keep it simple — start a practice that is simple and easy to stick with each cycle.

Do it together — take a moment to connect with your tween and help her reflect and connect with her body, emotions, and the natural flow of her cycle.

Write it down — use a blank journal, print one of the charts below, or create your own.

Start by marking Day 1, the first day of a period, and note how many days the previous cycle lasted.

Notice — Are any patterns that are emerging? You may notice and connect things your tween doesn’t yet — can you share any observations with your tween?

If your daughter is curious to learn more, help her check in with herself and make a few notes about how her physical sensations, mood, and energy shift throughout a cycle.
