Hi, I’m Liz.

I help moms get ready for their tween’s first periods.

I want all our tweens and teens to have a healthy, positive start with their cycle.

I’m also a mom and I know we’re in a powerful position to lead the way toward a less shamey and more open and meaningful experience. I created Raising Flora for us.

Raising Flora Journey

Inspired by revisiting my own first period, fueled by conversations with other moms and determined to give my daughter a special experience, I wondered:

How can we give our tweens the healthy, positive, meaningful first period experiences they need and want? How can we go beyond teaching how to manage periods to help tweens authentically connect to their full cycle? How can we show up as the moms we want to be: self-aware, intentional, compassionate, calm, confident? How can we get ready both practically and emotionally? What would my tween love?

Raising Flora is my answer to these questions because I’ve learned we can give our tweens a healthy, positive, meaningful start with their cycle and so much more. I’m passionate about sharing how you can lead the way toward a less shamey and more open and meaningful experience for your tween.

Before creating Raising Flora, I spent 25 years leading and coaching in a wide range of roles.

In 2022, I celebrated my Year of Being 50 by walking — around my neighborhood, across Spain, and in half marathons with family and friends. This year, I’m still walking and adventuring with my family.
