Nourishing Tweens & Teens

It’s back-to-school season for my family and I’m savoring our time together at the end of summer. I’m also very excited to get back to our school year routines.

As a mom, I know this season can be a lot to manage both logistically and emotionally as we nurture our tweens and teens through so many beginnings — new classes, new sports seasons, new bus routes, new friendships. I know it’s not back-to-school season for for everyone everywhere right now but I imagine you can relate.

So I reached out to experts for good ideas and support. We’ve had amazing conversations about important topics like mental health, nutrition, mindset, friendship, academics, and love. And I’ve brought a cycle aware spin to each chat.

I want to invite you to listen in and use the incredible free resources available with each episode.

In Episode 01, I talk about nourishing our tweens and teens through puberty with Brandy Hommerding of Bee Collective Wellness.

Brandy is a Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and a self-proclaimed “diet culture dropout” who works with women to overcome challenges like bloating, fatigue, PMS and irregular menstrual cycles.

I so enjoyed my conversation with Brandee because it was both deep and practical. We talked about:

  • how to talk with your kids about macronutrients and why breakfast really is their most important meal of the day;

  • how our bodies change during puberty and menopause and ways to nourish ourselves and our daughters through these big life changes;

  • and I asked Brandy the million dollar question on all our minds: what does a healthy relationship with our body look like and how do we help give that to our daughters? I hope you'll take her answer as a gentle reminder that self compassion is everything.

I hope you’ll listen in and get your free resources.
